Female Founders Breakfast: Cascais

This month’s mini-masterclass portion of the breakfast will be led by our very own Community Ambassador, Naomi Mendes-Pouget, authenticity for leaders “CUNTY” Coach, culture builder, published author, podcast host, and founder of CUNTYverse. Naomi has spent years helping women and gender-expansive leaders bridge the gap between knowing who they are and actually living it. Expect to feel seen, heard, and to get creative. Let’s dig into what authenticity really means, not the loud, performative version the internet sells us. Let’s talk about what it looks like to lead your business, your team, and your life as your truest self, and seek that in those you lead, in a world now full of AI-generated everything. We’ll also tackle the systems and cultures that make authenticity hard in the first place, because that impostor syndrome you’re carrying? It’s not all yours. And honestly, there’s no better place to have this conversation than here, a community that was built on showing up real. Come as you are. What to expect? We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at Luna House, a coworking space & boutique guesthouse just 10 minutes on foot from the Cascais Train Station. Being a female entrepreneur isn’t always easy. That’s why we believe in creating intentional spaces where we can slow down, connect deeply, and lift each other up. What to Expect: This breakfast brings together a curated group of solopreneurs and startup founders, each of them invited to share about their projects, intentions, and challenges as we create space for exchange and collaboration. Please arrive punctually to participate in the introduction round and networking. 💬 Let’s Talk About... Authenticity 🦄 The impact you want to have in this world What products or services you're offering Where you need support from others Opportunities to co-create, cross-promote, or partner Your Ticket Includes: Meaningful conversations Potential new business partnerships and clients The opportunity to co-create with our founder, Nina Simone and her team in Cascais The breakfast facilitated by our ambassador Naomi Mendes-Pouget You won’t leave hungry. We’ll serve: Coffee, tea, fresh juice, croissants, and seasonal fruit. 🍓 ☕ 🥐 For more, follow us here. Visit our website here.

FemTech Talks: Mind the Research Gap

About Event Women are 51% of the population, yet women's health remains one of the most underfunded and underresearched areas in healthcare. Only around 4% of global health R&D funding goes towards women’s health, and just 1% is focused on female-specific conditions outside of oncology. For decades, women were excluded from clinical research, and it was only in 2016 that sex was formally recognised as a key biological variable in many studies. So what does this gap actually mean in practice? And more important, who is working to close it? Join FemTech Portugal for an accessible, thought-provoking session exploring the research gap in women’s health, and the people pushing the field forward. This evening brings together industry leaders across research, pharma, and drug development to unpack the challenges, and opportunities, in building a more inclusive future for healthcare. Whether you work in the space or are simply curious, this is an open and informal way to learn more about an important and often overlooked area of healthcare. 🕒 Agenda 18:30-19:00 | Arrival & Welcome Arrive, grab a drink, and meet the community. 19:00-19:10 | Setting the Scene A short overview of the current state of women’s health research, globally and in Portugal. 19:10-19:30 | Pitching the Next Wave in Women's Health Research Short presentations from researchers working on women’s health R&D (speakers to be announced). 19:30–20:15 | Panel Discussion A conversation with speakers from research, pharma, and drug development, sharing different perspectives on how the gap can be addressed (panelists to be announced). 20:15–21:00 | Networking & Drinks Stay for a drink, continue the conversation, and get to know others in the space. 🌿 About the Organisers FemTech Portugal FemTech Portugal is a non-profit association dedicated to accelerating women’s health innovation in Portugal. The Garden Sessions: Design in the Age of AI

TL;DR A full day in Lisbon with twenty designers, in a space chosen for focus and honesty. A sharing moment of real stories from everyone, including you. A safe place for people say what they actually feel about this moment. Two talks that get you thinking. One on designing for AI agents, the users reshaping the internet. And another on what it means to stay human when these tools keep multiplying. A workshop where you design AI experiences with paper and pens. Slow, physical, intentional. A collaborative session where you create a personal experiment to run over the next 30 days, and leave with something tangible to keep it alive. A community of 20 designers who you can co-work throughout the year in the same space of the event, keeping the conversations going. Early bird at 180€ from April 19 to April 30. An intimate, one-day event for 20 designers in a carefully chosen space in Lisbon. It brings together a small group of practitioners to think deeply about their profession, build new skills, and share openly about how they're navigating this moment of change. Every session is designed so speakers and participants are in the same room, in every sense. Talks flow into conversations. Conversations flow into making. The format weaves together honest storytelling, focused thinking, and hands-on work into a single arc that builds throughout the day. Everyone in the room shapes what happens in it. We're still working on the program to give you a cohesive, intentional experience. Here's what's taking shape: Sharing. The day opens with vulnerability. Gus and three participants share their personal journeys with AI so far: how it started, what fears they carry, how optimistic or pessimistic they feel right now. Thinking. Two talks that push thinking in different directions. Nuno explains how to design experiences for AI agents, who will be the main users of the internet. Madalena asks the question no one else will: how do we stay human when the tools keep multiplying? Making. Pedro leads a hands-on workshop on designing AI experiences. Identifying use cases, calibrating automation, applying design patterns. The entire workshop is done with paper and pens. No computers. Committing. Gus and Catarina close the day with "The Playground Never Closes," a session built on embodied cognition and improv where everyone designs a personal experiment for the next 30 days and leaves with a tangible reminder to keep it alive. Getting together. The day does not end when people leave. A small community for the 20 participants to share their journeys, with co-working days so the conversations continue and the group holds each other accountable. What you take away You leave the event with: More confidence about the future The kind of clarity that comes from spending a day with their peers who share the same questions A renewed sense of agency The understanding that designers are not passive observers of change. They have the tools, the empathy, and the perspective to actively shape what comes next The conviction that experimentation is the way forward In a moment where everything feels uncertain, the best response is not to wait for answers. It is to keep trying new things, learning from them, and adjusting A deeper connection to the human skills that no technology can replace Creativity, intuition, the ability to sit with ambiguity and make sense of it A community of peers Twenty people who spent a full day doing real work together, not networking. That shared experience stays The core bet The world is changing fast and designers are uniquely positioned to help make sense of it. But only if they move. The Garden Sessions is a space to unfreeze, reconnect with what makes design powerful, and walk out ready to experiment. Applications This is an intimate event and we want to be thoughtful about who's in the room. Not to be exclusive, but to bring together a genuinely diverse group of designers with different backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of working. Apply to join the list. From April 19, accepted participants will receive access to confirm their spot and complete their registration. 180€ early bird, available until April 30. 250€ regular price, from May 1 onwards.
